In a certain sense, OLIO is an experimental theatre troupe.
As a venture, OLIO is intended to explore and demonstrate the power of audio performance and storytelling -- an enterprise which has largely fallen by the wayside in today's television- and picture-dominated society. We seek to create dramatic audio productions that appeal to modern audiences and fuel the imagination.
While our team is very fond of and much influenced by early radio theatre, OLIO is a very different animal; our productions are highly contemporary, technologically advanced, and of "cinematic" quality and character (though we do sometimes indulge in making short, simple vignettes). Many of our primary productions are designed in holophonic stereo -- a specialized audio format that realistically captures the 3-D quality of human hearing.
We typically release two or three new productions per month.
